A native of Chicago, Andrew Senn (b. 1978) began piano study at age six. At thirteen, he turned his focus to the organ, studying with William Aylesworth. During this time, he served as Organ Scholar at The Parish Church of St Luke in Evanston, Illinois, and coached with Paul Manz, David Schrader and Martin Jean. At eighteen, Andrew received a merit-based, full scholarship to study organ with John Weaver at The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. While at Curtis, he served as an assistant organist at the world-famous Wanamaker Grand Court Organ, and held posts at historic St Peter’s Church, Philadelphia and at Washington Memorial Chapel, the National Shrine in Valley Forge Nat’l Park. Upon graduation from Curtis, Andrew was appointed as both Organ and Choral Scholar at Truro Cathedral in Cornwall, England, where he studied the English choral tradition with Andrew Nethsingha. Returning to America, Andrew is now Director of Music and Organist at The First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, where he conducts a professional 20-voice choir and oversees a growing concert series. Andrew is also an active conductor, and has led acclaimed performances of Handel’s Messiah, Poulenc’s Organ Concerto, Britten’s St Nicholas, Bach’s B minor mass and Duruflé’s Requiem. He has sung with and accompanied The Philadelphia Singers and worked on several occasions with The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia. Andrew has appeared as an organ recitalist in major venues in America and in England, including two appearances on the Dobson organ at Verizon Hall in Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys classic British television, cooking, running and riding “Heidi,” his beloved Harley-Davidson.
