Wilma Jensen

Wilma Jensen is known as one of the most distinguished concert artists of her generation. Under the representation of Phyllis Stringham Concert Management, she has performed recitals and presented workshops and master classes throughout the United States. European tours have taken her to Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Belgium. She has been a featured artist at numerous regional and national conventions of the American Guild of Organists and the Royal Canadian College of Organists. Ms. Jensen earned her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where she was a student of Catharine Crozier and Harold Gleason. During that time she received the highly coveted Performer’s Certificate in Organ. Wilma Jensen has held teaching appointments at Oklahoma City University, Indiana University, Scarritt Graduate School, and Vanderbilt University. For nineteen years she was Organist-Choirmaster at St. George’s Episcopal Church, Nashville, where she oversaw the design and installation of Casavant Frères opus 3606. Upon her ­retirement from St. George’s Church, she was named Organist-Choirmaster Emerita. Recordings by Ms. Jensen and the St. George’s Choir appear on the Pro Organo label (www.zarex.com).
