Bach Organ Transcriptions
Digital Album
Rachel Laurin

The noted Canadian organist and composer Rachel Laurin presents performances a program comprised of works of Johann Sebastian Bach [1685-1750] upon the 1960 Rudolf von Beckerath organ in the Basilica of Saint Joseph’s Oratory in Montréal, Quécen, Canada.  Ms. Laurin performs organ transcriptions made by Marcel Dupré, Maurice Duruflé, E. Power Biggs, and Edward Shippen Barnes, as well as several of her own Bach organ transcriptions.  Four of J. S. Bach’s Six Schübler Chorale Preludes are actually Bach’s own organ transcriptions of his works written originally for performance in other mediums, and these are included in the 76 minute program.
