The Passacaglia in D minor (161) receives a lively performance with imaginative use of the resources of the elegant II / 21 Taylor & Boody organ (1990) in Holy Trinity Lutheran church, Lynchburg, Virginia – an instrument splendidly suited to all of this repertory. … One of my personal favorites of all Buxtehude’s output is the glorious Praeludium in G minor (149); Greene provides a compelling performance, each section having its distinctive character but still contributing to the unified whole.
