Concert organist KATHARINE PARDEE provides listeners throughout the United States and Europe with playing described as ”highly virtuosic“ and ”strikingly elegant.“ Dr. Pardee has taught at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, New York, and was University Organist, Affiliate Artist in Organ and the Hendricks Chapel Organist at Syracuse University from 1988-99. In the Fall of 2001 she takes up a faculty position in music at Oxford University, England, while continuing her concert career. Katharine Pardee received her DMA and MM degrees as well as the prestigious Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School as a student of Russell Saunders. Her undergraduate study was at Boston University where she was a student of George Faxon. In 1980 she was awarded a Fulbright Grant to study in Germany with Michael Schneider and in London with Nicolas Kynaston. Pardee’s first CD recording, entitled ”Organ Classics at Crouse“ (Pro Organo CD 7082), features the historic Holtkamp organ in Crouse Auditorium at Syracuse University.
