Cathedral Girl Choristers

In this 2000 recording, Bruce Neswick leads the Washington National Cathedral Girl Choristers, accompanied with the Cathedral organ with organists Erik Wm. Suter and Douglas Major, in a program spanning the gamut of 20th-century styles in the Anglican choral tradition.  Cathedral musicians Bruce Neswick, Douglas Major and Richard Dirksen are represented as composers of works on the program.  The choristers are joined by harpist Caroline Gregg in Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols. and by Rosa Lamoreaux, soprano in Douglas Major’s Ascension.

The American Record Guide Composers Neswick and Major are also conductor and organist of this hardly hackneyed program. The Washington girls sound bright and crisp and even try to emulate a boys’ choir for the Britten.
