The Art of the Chorale, Volume 2
(Audio CD)
John Ayer, Memphis Chamber Choir

John Ayer continues his exploration of the organ chorale-prelude in the second volume of THE ART OF THE CHORALE.  Both in Volume 1 (Pro Organo CD7064) and in this second volume, John Ayer leads the singing of the harmonized chorales with his Memphis Boychoir and Memphis Chamber Choir.  Two excellent pipe organs, both by the builders Nichols & Simpson, are utilized for the various organ settings of the chorales.  The organ of Christ Episcopal Church in Little Rock, Arkansas is heard in Volume 2 in tracks 8, 11, 12, and 20.  The organ of Hendrix College, Conway, Arkansas is heard in Volume 2 in tracks 2, 3, 5, 6, 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 23.
