This is the first organ solo composition from the pen of organist Frederick Hohman. Composed in March 1973, the composer premiered the work in concert on July 15, 1973 on the Holtkamp pipe organ in Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Webster Groves (St. Louis), Missouri. The 5-1/2 minute work is tonal, except for polytonal and atonal musical punctuations. It is considered a virtuosic work, suitable for the advanced player. It is dedicated to the composer’s organ and piano professor in St. Louis: Charles Cordeal. The score presumes a 3-manual and pedal organ with 61 note manual compass and 32 note pedal compass. A neo-classic organ specification will render the work in the manner intended by the composer.
