The Organ at the Grand Lodge (Audio CD) Simon Nieminski

This is the first commercially-available CD featuring the newly-restored, 3-manual, circa 1913 vintage pipe organ, by Brindley & Foster, located in the Freemasons’ Hall Grand Lodge in Edinburgh, Scotland UK. The release coincides with a public re-dedication concert of the organ, to be held in March, 2010, played by recently-installed Grand Organist, Simon Nieminski. This organ has rarely, if ever, been heard outside of the Masonic community. The organ has been restored according to its original, tubular-pneumatic design, and it features a wind-driven stop combination action, as well as a device called the “Brindgradus,” which is equivalent to the Crescendo Pedal on American pipe organs.

Released as a Digital Audio Compact Disc.
