The Organ Icons – Printed Music Score

This printed music score from Zarex Scores is a virtuosic original organ composition by Frederick Hohman, completed in on June 28, 2018.  It bears the following dedicatory inscription:

Commisioned by the American Guild of Organists for the 2019 Ronald G. Pogorzelski and Lester D. Yankee Annual Competition.

Frederick Hohman is the 2019 Award Recipient in the annual Ronald G. Pogorzelski and Lester D. Yankee new organ music competition, sponsored by the American Guild of Organists.  Dr. Hohman composed the organ organ work THE ORGAN ICONS in response to the $10,000 prize which was attached to the award.  Dr. Hohman is the fourth recipient in this annual AGO composition competition.

THE ORGAN ICONS has a duration of 12 minutes, and it a virtuoso piece intended for moderately advanced to advanced players.  The score includes the composer’s organ registrations for the two-manual and pedal organ on which it is being premiered (at Indiana University of Pennsylvania), as well as general registration indications that will adapt to a wide variety of pipe organs.
